Maintenance Fitter

UDC, a subsidiary of The Midfield Group has an annual processing capacity of 300 million litres which is sourced from dairy producers in Western Victoria and South East South Australia which includes Midfields own dairy farms providing security of supply.

Located in Penola – in Australia’s prime dairy region – the purpose-built plant provides a state-of-the-art factory and is the newest of its kind in the southern hemisphere providing customers with confidence that their premium ingredients will be safe and secure for their users and consumers.

We now have a vacancy for a Maintenance Fitter to be located at our Penola, South Australia site.

This position will suit a candidate with extensive experience working on fixed plant and processing equipment in a highly automated industrial environment.

In this position you will be required to work a rotating 12-hour shift roster, where you will complete preventative and reactive maintenance on production and utilities equipment including boilers, compressors, fans, pumps, valves and a variety of automated filling and packing machines.

About You:

  • Relevant trade qualification with experience in Food/Dairy preferred but not essential
  • An ability to comply with Food Safety and Hygiene Requirements, Quality Standards
  • An ability to comply with WHS policies and procedures
  • An ability to work autonomously and support production teams
  • A “CAN DO” attitude
  • Fabrication experience
  • Experience in TIG/Stainless welding, confined space and operating EWP and forklift license will be highly regarded
  • Being punctual and reliable, well organised, tidy and efficient
  • Have strong interpersonal & communication skills
  • You must have the right to work in Australia (38 hours/week)
  • You must pass a drug & alcohol test and be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical if required

Commercial Sales & Execution Manager

We now have a vacancy for a Commercial Sales & Execution Manager to be located at Warrnambool, Victoria.

About the Role:

Reporting to the General Manager Midfield Group the candidate will be responsible for;

  • Domestic & Export Sales of premium dairy ingredients
  • Transparent & detailed management of Bids, Offers, Sales & Execution including administration & reporting to the wider commercial team
  • Providing a gold class level of customer service ensuring they have a positive point of contact and a secondary contact who is able to access service & sales history.
  • Develop and maintain a CRM to capture & manage all commercial discussions and activities
  • Managing Sales forecast position and ensuring flexibility for market dynamics
  • Maintaining strong relationships with the operations & supply team understand the impact and costs of product mix selections & changes
  • Plan & host customer visits providing backgrounds and context for commercial and operations teams
  • Assume the role of customer liaison to the operations team ensuring clear efficient customer feedback
  • Work with and be a back-up to other sales team members
  • Resolution & trouble shooting of Product & service related customer feedback

About you:

  • Tertiary qualified in sales and marketing or similar field
  • Minimum 5 year’s experience in a similar role within a FMCG environment
  • Ability to interpret consumer data and formulate sales strategies to drive growth
  • Ability to facilitate a cross functional team to achieve common goals and results
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong business etiquette and ability to adapt to change
  • A sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company's success
  • Driven self-starter with the confidence to work autonomously and as Team player
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • You must have the right to work in Australia

Production Operators

The Union Dairy Company is currently seeking suitably experienced applicants for a production operator positions within its milk processing plant.

The UDC site is located in the South East of South Australia, approximately 8 kilometres south of Penola. The plant utilises state of the art equipment in a modern production environment.

To be successful you will require the following experience;

* Operate an evaporator, spray dryer, packaging and palletising;
* Monitor and sample powdered product;
* Maintain accurate records;
* Routine plant cleaning using foaming machine, wet scrubbers, sweepers and manual cleaning tools;
* Package finished powder, weigh, sample, seal and palletise product and move pallets with a forklift;
* Provide support for basic analytical testing on finished product;
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment;
* Follow company food safety and quality policies;

* Assist in ensuring fundamental food safety and quality practices are maintained to achieve food safety and quality objectives and to support ongoing improvements of food safety programs.

The position is full time, working to a 24/7 - 12 hour shift on a rotating roster of 4 days/nights on and 4 days off.
